Similar to the Gourmet Experience, but geared more towards those looking to explore the hills and coastlines, sniff strong salty air, absorb the angel’s share and follow peaty reek to the island’s malt distilleries.

Price guide: approximately £25 per person for all 4 tours, including special tastings.
(If self-catering, book directly with the distilleries of your choice, or your accommodation host will book them on your behalf).
Go Fishing!
Take a fishing trip with Islay Marine Charters and catch your own dinner! Mackerel, Pollock and Cole-Fish adorn the shores of Islay – present your catch to the chef at your hotel and they will do all the hard work, whilst you sit back, relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour! Trips run, weather permitting and it is advisable to book your trip whilst on the island. Your host can help you with this.
Price guide from £28 per person, based on 4 passengers.

RSPB Wildlife Reserves
There’s always plenty to see at Loch Gruinart. In the autumn months, thousands of white-fronted and barnacle geese arrive from Greenland. When they leave in spring, wading birds take centre stage, with the courtship displays of snipe, redshanks and curlews. Watch it all take place from our viewing centre and hide, or from your car along the roadside.
The Wildlife Reserve does not charge for entry, however donations are welcome
